Hi, I’m Adam Rakunas. I’ve been writing stuff since 1996 and getting paid for it since 2008. It took a while to get from there to here, but the trip’s been worth it. Along the way, I’ve worked as a video game engineer, a fast-food cashier, an IT consultant, a theater usher, a virtual world developer (remember that? I hope you don’t, because that was, frankly, a weird and embarrassing time), a triathlon race director, a parking lot attendant, and a political engineer. Now I’m a stay-at-home parent. I like this job the best.

When the kid’s at school, I write science fiction and fantasy. You can read some of it here. My debut novel, Windswept, was nominated for the 2016 Philip K. Dick Award, so I got that going for me. I’m represented by Sam Morgan at Foundry Literary + Media.
