I learned times tables the old fashioned way: flash cards. I didn’t like them, fought Mom and Dad a lot about it as I remember, but I got the damn things learned.

Tonight, as I’m rolling over these numbers for a pitch, I’m humming “Three is a Magic Number.” How would times tables have gone if we’d had a CD of Multiplication Rock? Would I have driven my teachers nuts by singing “Three Six Nine…Twelve Fifteen Eighteen…”?
