I rode my bike to work today, figuring it was a good time to do so. The verdict? Sepulveda northbound isn’t as hairy as I thought (though it’s still an uphill slog), riding through the VA at 6 in the morning is cool, and Chandler Boulevard wins for Bestest Bike Lane Ev-Ar. It was 19.3 miles in, and took about 1.37. We’ll see how the return leg is, but I think doing this twice a week will be excellent for Ironman.
Barring someone bowing out at the last minute, I’m not going to Clarion. Ah, well.
Clarion application is winging its way through the aether. I just hope UCSD Extension’s commerce engine didn’t just eat my credit card. It has given me The Fear.
Not the best shot, but you know how we Angelenos are with snow. Makes us squint.
In 2007, I will:
-write my ass off.
-complete God and Mammon (see above for further motivation)
-become Customer of the Month at Wahoo’s
-get down to my fighting weight of 190 (expect pictures. Scandalous pictures.)
-ride in at least three road races, three sprint tris, two Olympic tris, and run one marathon
-become a parent
-take China and Japan by storm
-get into Clarion
-plant one hell of a garden
-be humble and modest in all things
Bye, 2006. You’ve gone and set up a lot of good stuff. Here’s to carrying the positive forward into 2007.
